Pre-Course Work Directions:Students starting the course during TERM 2: Pre-course work due no later than 11:59 pm on Monday, October 21, 2013
1. E-mail Mrs. Rohlfs a short autobiography (around 300 words). Tell me a bit about your background, interests, hopes and dreams, etc. E-mail her at: [email protected] 2. Read an excerpt of Thomas Foster's, How to Read Literature Like a Professor, "It's Greek to Me" (See File Download in column to the right) 3. Read Homer's Odyssey. As you read, be sure to "mark up" key passages from the text to help you construct your discussion board post. NOTE: If you are not purchasing the Townsend Press version provided by Mrs. Rohlfs ($1.50) only use post-its to mark up the text as you'll need to return it; if it's your own purchased copy, I encourage you to underline, highlight, and write in the margins. 4. Download and read the directions (See File Download in column to the right) on how to create a discussion board post and reply . 5. Go to the "Discussion Blog" tab to read the topics for your discussion post. 6. Write your discussion post. To submit your post, please share it with Mrs. Rohlfs using googledocs ([email protected]) AND add to the weebly blog by clicking on "Comment." Include your full name when you submit your post. 7. Reply to the posts of two classmates. |
